Award-winning artist and designer sylvia nan cheng invites you to a creative tablescaping workshop bridging the best of locally grown flowers, foraged greens, and objects from her recent ceramics residency in Jingdezhen, China.
Over the course of 2 hours, we will collaborate on a picturesque 20’ long nature-inspired floral composition. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own contributions while considering how their unique design morphs into the larger tablescape.
Workshop fee includes hands-on instruction, all flowers, and use of tools; ceramics and flower frogs available for purchase separately.
We are a design-led contemporary wedding and events floral studio that also happens to grow 1/4 acres of premium cut flowers in Tkaronto (Toronto) under the Dish with One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant. As guests and stewards on sacred land, we are committed to regenerative and anti-oppressive practices. We are proudly queer BIPOC-owned and operated.
Positioned in the transient space between China and Canada, our products and experiences are informed by the confluence of tradition, migration, and adaptation. It is a liminal space outside the bounds of ancestral homeland and host society for exploring evolving cultural hybridity and the Chinese-Canadian diasporic experience.
Lychuu is an art and culture space in Toronto that brings together independent artists, designers, and small creative brands. It offers a place where objects, ideas, and conversations can meet.
